You can entrust your home to CP Gallagher on Long Island NY

Having heard horror stories from families and friends about construction gone wrong, homeowners contemplating a renovation or a new home often hesitate. Building and remodeling may not be in the top 10 stressors in today's lifestyles, but it can be a real challenge to live through the disruption any project brings. But when done properly, the challenge of building a new home or addition, or renovating existing space, can be rewarding and will result in years of enjoyment for you and your family.

At CP Gallagher Construction, we are extremely cognizant of turning this challenge into a pleasurable experience while leaving the smallest foot print possible. Like most professional builders and remodelers, we want to see a smile on our clients' faces when the project is finished. But, we take even more pride knowing that throughout the entire process, we have kept our clients' discomfort to a minimum.

From the first visit, through initial planning, cost estimates, design, demolition, construction, trim work, and completion, our clients receive our full attention. We thoroughly explain each step, offering our clients decades of accumulated knowledge and experience. It's our job to make even the most difficult complexities seem simple. We accomplish this by using a time-tested systems approach executed personally by Chris Gallagher. Chris knows the project's success depends on his communication skills, not only with the homeowners, but also with tradesmen and material vendors. Our trusted tradesmen are appropriately licensed and insured with a history of providing only the best workmanship for our discriminating clients. All of these interrelated elements make for a successful project.

We keep smiles on our clients' faces - whatever it takes, however long it takes. It's just what we do.

Our Expertise

Kitchens

A kitchen remodel is by far one of the best investments a homeowner can make, and the return on investment (ROI) a kitchen remodel might produce is an important consideration. When you are planning on staying in your home for more than five years, plan a budget of 15%-18% of the total value of your home. So, if your home is worth $300,000, a kitchen remodel budget of $45,000 is a reasonable investment.

Most older-style kitchens can easily be updated without major structural changes. Replacing cabinets may be a starting point. Replacing vinyl flooring with ceramic tile, new countertops, a ceramic backsplash and a double-basin sink are modern kitchen remodeling options many homeowners consider.

An antiquated kitchen may need to be gutted. New custom cabinets and natural stone countertops become the rule. Changing an inconvenient traffic flow and adding state-of-the-art appliances can transform a home, and increase resale value.

Baths

A bathroom remodel is a very personal thing and is more about comfort and pampering amenities than form or function, though those are also important. Along with a kitchen remodel, a bathroom remodel is by far one of the best investments a homeowner can make, and the return on investment (ROI) a bathroom remodel might produce is an important consideration.

Some questions to consider:

  • Is this bathroom intended for more than one person's use?
  • Might an additional bathroom better suit our family's needs?
  • Does the current bathroom have enough countertop area?
  • Do we want granite or tile countertops?
  • Is there enough storage space for personal incidentals as well as clean towels and paper products?
  • Do we have a water-saving, efficient toilet?
  • Is there a particular style we'd like in our bathroom?

Additions

Adding space in the form of an addition is a popular remodel. Home additions come in two varieties: those that go up, and those that go out. When space, lot size, zoning restrictions, and cost are an issue, or when it's an aesthetic choice, a second or even a third story addition is just what the doctor ordered.

When you are not limited to your home's current foot print, when you can extend the perimeter of your home outside the space it now occupies without violating zoning and setback restrictions, then adding out is definitely the addition for you.

Regardless whether you need an addition for a family room, new master suite, an in-law suite, a home office, or an extra bathroom, increasing your home's size also adds value to your home.

Whole House

Often, instead of remodeling one room at a time, it can be more efficient and economical, less time-consuming, to redo a major portion of your home in one larger project, or increase the square footage.

When that's the case, we can go up, out, and down with an addition. Because the foundation is in place, going up, adding a second story is by far the least expensive. Going down, transforming a basement is an economical choice and can nearly double a home's livable space.

Though the greater expense, an addition that extends the original footprint also extends all the options. That addition can have a second story, a basement, and any additional amenities a family might want to fulfill their immediate need, or improve their quality of life.
