My husband and I never had to oversee his work, as he was his own critic. If he did not like the way something looked, or matched up, he changed it! His insight and knowledge of his craft is second to none. There was not a moment that we felt stressed or concerned as we were extremely confident in Chris's abilities and his attention to detail. He provided us with helpful suggestions, and addressed and solved any minor problems that came about. Chris was reliable as he always arrived when expected. In addition, he was extremely conscientious of the timing of each part of our project and was committed to every aspect. He was easy to talk to, extremely patient and always provided any explanations needed. Chris is also extremely trustworthy and treats your home with the same respect and consideration he would of his own. We actually enjoyed his company and will miss his daily presence. There are not enough acclimates for Chris, his craftsmanship or his work ethic. Words cannot describe how pleased we were that we chose him. We have and will continue to recommend Chris. My name is Janine Sillat. My husband, Michael and I hired C. P. Gallagher Construction in November of 2014 to build a 1300 square foot addition to our 2,700 square foot home. The addition included a new living space, mudroom, and a master bedroom suite which included two large walk-in closets and a 120 square foot bathroom. A laundry room was also added along with a renovation to the upstairs and down stairs guest baths and existing office space.
From the beginning of the process, Mr. Gallagher was very flexible. We were able to negotiate a very fair contract that was comfortable for us as the home owners and Chris as the builder. Chris' timeline was reasonable, and we understood completely that timelines and surprises with renovations occur.
Chris' crew began work toward the middle of December in 2014 and worked nonstop in brutally cold conditions in order to complete the framing before the worst part of the winter set in. He and his men showed up on time, every day, not just during the framing, but until the completion of the job. Chris even visited the site several times in the middle of the night to make sure there were no leaks into the home during heavy rains and they were completely committed to finishing the job as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.
Chris worked well with our architect, with whom he was not familiar. They developed a mutual respect for one another which was extremely helpful for us monetarily as the architect did not feel the need to babysit the job and charge us hourly for their time.
Throughout the process, Chris went above and beyond just adding to our home. He consistently helped with the little things, like picking up fixtures, getting light bulbs, fixing small needed repairs we found along the way, even going so far as to come and change the battery of a smoke detector on a high ceiling months after the was already completed when I asked why it might be beeping intermittently. Chris' wife was even nice enough to obtain some material for us when no one else was available to go. She was kind enough to take an hour round trip to facilitate the building of our home.
Chris also worked well with the town, making appointments for inspections and complying with all town stipulations. Chris, and his wife, went to the town several times for us when it would have been very easy to leave the responsibility to us, the home owners. Being very sensitive to our work and family situation, they went above and beyond to make sure that we had the complete paper work and that everything was in order.
Communication was also not an issue with C. P. Gallagher Construction. Chris answered emails, texts, and phone calls promptly, even late at night. Even now, with the job way in the past, Chris is available to answer questions and follow up on any details we have asked of him.
Chris and his men also showed tremendous respect for our animals. They made sure that they were safe during construction and did not get outside when it was safer for them to be in. As pet owners, it was important for us that we know the people working in our house are good to our animals when we are not home.
In all, I whole-heartedly recommend Chris Gallagher and his construction team as a General Contractor for any home improvement project. People are stunned when we tell them we had zero issues with our contractor. Chris is honest, fair, and reasonable. His work is of good quality, and our home looks beautiful. When you hear nightmare stories about shady builders and fly-by-night workers, it has been a huge pleasure and relief to go through this process with someone who really cared about our needs and making our vision a reality. Chris and his team will not disappoint you!
Hire CP Gallagher Construction! There is no other contractor more professional, more capable and more invested in your project than Chris and his crew. I work in the Architecture field and have never had as pleasant of an experience as I had with Chris. Chris was able to renovate our old house on deadline while keeping the quality exceptional. When we were ready to renovate our kitchen and finish our basement it was a given that Chris would perform the work. He worked with us on every detail and was committed from the start till he came back to install the last knob. At that time Chris worked on a number of projects including the finishing of our basement, replacing all the windows in the house, and remodeling some rooms. After having several contractors and a " leak specialist" investigate several leaks we were having in several rooms of my house (upper and lower Level) I finally was referred to Chris Gallagher by specialist from Dupont Tyvek home wrap systems. Chris spent a good amount of time investigating every possibility and finally found the problem. It has been 3 or 4 years since Chris did the reconstruction and we haven't had a single drop of water in our house. Chris was extremely patient, professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend Chris for any type of home construction or repairs.

He is also skilled at carpentry and all means of construction. Chris recommended little details that made a big difference in how our house looks and functions.
